ThisBrand: turning an agency’s Figma design into a WordPress theme, pixel for pixel

A Delhi branding agency had a finished Figma design and needed it live as a WordPress site they could update themselves. Here is how the build went, from the asset pipeline to the sticky "Book free meeting" button.
ThisBrand is a branding and digital agency in Delhi: logos, web design, social media design, UI/UX. Agencies are picky clients in the best way. They arrived with a complete Figma file, bold uppercase display type, illustrated service cards, and one instruction: make it look exactly like this, and let us edit it.
Why WordPress, and why a custom theme
The site has a blog, a work portfolio that grows every month, and an "about" page that changes as the team changes. That is WordPress territory: the agency updates it from the editor without calling me. But a marketplace theme would have fought the design at every corner. So the theme is custom: every template matches a Figma frame, and the editor only controls the content inside the layout, not the layout itself.
The asset pipeline
WordPress themes usually ship hand-written CSS and a pile of enqueued scripts. For this one I set up a Vite build inside the theme: the styles and scripts are bundled, minified and hashed, and PHP reads the manifest to enqueue the right files. It runs on PHP 8.3. The payoff is a site that loads a couple of small files instead of twenty, and a development loop with hot reload while I matched the Figma frames.
What is on the page
- A hero with two calls to action, because the agency wanted both "see our work" and "start a project" above the fold.
- Illustrated service cards for branding, web, social and UI/UX, each linking to a service page.
- A featured-work section fed by a custom post type, so new projects appear on the home page automatically.
- Why-choose-us points, client testimonials with ratings, and a project enquiry form that asks the three questions the agency needs before a call.
- A sticky header that keeps "Book free meeting" one tap away on a phone, which is where their enquiries come from.
- Work, about, services, blog, contact and the legal pages.
Details that took longer than they look
The uppercase display type is wide, so headings that fit a desktop frame wrap badly on a phone. Each heading has a phone size that was tuned by hand rather than a formula. The illustrated cards have hover states in Figma that assume a mouse; on touch they get a tap state instead, so nothing feels broken.
What the client got
A site that is theirs in every sense: the domain, the hosting, the theme and the content. They add work and posts; I handle updates and the occasional new section. If you have a Figma design waiting to become a website, this is exactly the kind of job I take on; see websites for what that covers.
